Trackpad Version
windows 7 64 bit on mac driver problem?
Hi guys i just installed windows 7 64 bit onto my macbook white using boot camp assistant. Of course i am going to have to put in the macbook application cd to install some mac drivers such as the magic trackpad, built in isight, network controllers, etc. except when i installed the 64 bit version, i guess it came without a cd-rom drive driver which disables me from getting the drivers i need. Basically it will show the cd but it wont start reading it, and also shows nothing on it. When i use the 32 bit version of windows 7, it came with the cd-rom dvd driver thing. What should i do?

First of all, not every Intel Macbook will support 64-bit Windows. Make sure yours is one of the ones that does support it. Check the list at the link below.

Assuming your hardware is okay, it still can be a little tricky to get the $&^@ program to run. Read this article from Gizmodo carefully and follow the links.

Or, do what I do: Run Windows under Parallels. A new version comes out Wednesday that is supposedly even faster.
One more thing: Not only is Windows a RAM hog to begin with, it does not handle memory allocation as efficiently as the Mac OS. If you have just the standard 2 GB RAM that came with your Macbook, you may find that Windows (esp. the 64-bit version) is a slug. Start budgeting for a RAM upgrade.
